Training & Credentials
Dr. Monette is a licensed professional counselor with extensive clinical experience and specialized trainings in many areas of mental health practice. Ever since graduating from the University of Georgia in 2007, he has been committed to staying updated with the latest research and treatment methods to ensure the highest quality of care for his clients. While finishing his doctorate program, Neil also completed an extensive clinical internship and fellowship at a private practice near Nashville, TN. After being awarded his Ph.D., Neil eventually moved back to North Georgia and began working as a therapist at a private practice in Alpharetta, GA. Neil is currently licensed as a professional counselor (LPC) in Georgia. He was previously licensed as a professional counselor in Tennessee, before finishing his Ph.D. and moving back to Georgia.
Clinical Expertise
With a strong foundation in evidence-based practices, Dr. Monette enjoys working with both couples and individual clients... often when someone is feeling overwhelmed with patterns of stress, many times they're experiencing anxiety or depression... Perhaps there is a traumatic experience from your past that is still unresolved, and with you today... Have you been having family and relationship issues? With over 15 years of professional experience, Dr. Neil can help you create a plan to change your life today! He appreciates using a collaborative approach with each client, in order to make sure that we are working towards your specific goals, and also to empower you as you begin to overcome challenges and notice real changes in your life.

After finishing his Ph.D. program and moving back to north Georgia, he spent the next two years working at a private practice, where his team won the "Best of Georgia" award for mental health services, for two years in a row, both 2023 and 2024. Although it was a wonderful experience, and an absolute honor to have had the opportunity to work alongside so many talented clinicians at that location, Neil also wanted to fulfill his lifelong dream of starting his own counseling practice... and he is very excited about this next chapter of life. Some of the most influential experiences that Neil has had throughout his many years of school and training include his time at Clemson University, Harvard Business School, Capella University, & The University of Georgia.
Overall, it is such an honor to be a part of a client's journey as they become the best version of themselves!
