Neil W. Monette, PhD, NCC, LPC-T, CBT-C, BC-TMH
Let's Get to Know Each Other!
In addition to many years working with adults, Neil also has extensive training and experience working with children and adolescents. Near the end of his PhD program studying counselor education and supervision, Neil founded Thrive Life Counseling Center in Alpharetta, Georgia.
During his formal education, Neil attended Clemson University, the University of Georgia, Capella University, and Harvard Business School.
While finishing his Master's degree, Neil worked at a non-profit counseling agency with children, teens, and adults who had experienced trauma from abuse and/or domestic violence. He also has experience working with adults who suffer from substance abuse and alcohol dependence. Neil is a certified cognitive behavioral therapy practitioner and he also has extensive training using Child-Centered Play Therapy. He is also currently in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
One of Neil's most influential experiences was volunteering as a counselor for Young Life, a non-profit Christian outreach organization for teenagers. Neil also has both personal and professional experience with the foster care system and the process of adoption.

In his free time, Neil likes to go hiking, camping, and fishing. He also produces electronic music and plays guitar.
